Making A Living

I haven't written in a while but someone complimented my blog and spoke the kind words that they enjoyed my writings. They were right, they were the reader and I the writer. You don't have to be Edgar Allen Poe to write, be like Mike and just write what comes natural.

We have just endured a challenging February weather wise and it just never seems to end. We know a month from now it may be gone and life will go back to normal. Normal meaning making a living. The weather to a Real Estate person in a time of economic crisis never seemed to matter much, but here we are trying to keep our sanity and pay our bills, all at the same time with circumstances again, beyond our control
I guess this is leading me to what do we do when you can't show homes. The answer is marketing and gathering food (listings) for the shelves. Time to learn a new skill, keep up with the fast pace technology, brainstorm with fellow professionals, make that doctor appt. and continue to prospect. Time to contact old clients and old friends.
I will see you at the sunny isles sooner than later

Living Near A School

I was doing neighborhood drives early this morning and an old thought occurred in my mind. As I passed numerous schools with children walking about, frantic parents double parking and hurrying to their lives, slow drivers, that 20 minutes of craziness, is your home worth more or made desirable because your living across the street from a school these days. I,as many of you, may have grown up walking to schools or taking light transportation and it was great. My earlier years in real estate when the start of the liberalization, stopped us from advertising parishes, they formed the communities.
What is forming the communities now where you are?
